When attempting to add a new database to the tree in the latest version of IBConsole I got an error that the username and password were invalid (I used sysdba and masterkey). I now have the database in the treeview and Remove is disabled so I cannot remove it and cannot connect to it. How do I remove the entry for this database from the treeview? -- Bill Todd (TeamB)

Sorry, I am limping along on Vista. It's probably Documents and Settings\<username>\AppData for XP. Gelein probably uses the <APPDATA> (or similar) system var. Loren sZendre

OK, I had to find it on my system (Vista Ultimate), cuz I couldn't find it by snooping around. So I downloaded Process Monitor from sysinternals, and then opened IBConsole and expanded the tree till it showed by aliases. There it was: C:\Users\<myname>\AppData\Roaming\Borland\Interbase\gds_db Who woulda thunk it? Loren sZendre

I give up.:( There is nothing named gds_db on my system either. This has already taken far more time than IBConsole is worth to me. -- Bill Todd (TeamB)

Bill, On XP you find the ibconsole.xml somewhere under c:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Borland\Interbase -- Gelein van de Voorde (IBConsole team) "The blossoms on an apple tree are standardized, and yet they are all different. I deleted the database manaually. When I started IBConsole it told me the file is not valid XML and replaced it with the defaults. I give up. -- Bill Todd (TeamB)

Bill, You pointed me to a bug in IBConsole. I will fix that in the next beta release. -- Gelein van de Voorde (IBConsole team) "The blossoms on an apple tree are standardized, and yet they are all different. That is how we, too, should learn to build." Alvar Alto
