Hello, InterClient doesn't start properly! It doesn't appear in my task bar. I have reinstalled it, but no success. So an exception is thrown each time a connection is required. It's not a code problem. Thanks a lot. SQLException : interbase.interclient.CommunicationException: [interclient] Communication error: A socket exception occurred while trying to establish a socket connection to server loopback. The message of the SocketException is "Connection refused: connect".See API reference for exception interbase.interclient.CommunicationException

InterClient never appears on your task bar. If you're having trouble connecting to IB, try the "Diagnose Conneciton" tool in IBConsole. -Craig -- Craig Stuntz [TeamB] . Vertex Systems Corp. . thank you Craig, the problem is that after having started interserver (isconfig.exe \advanced\service control : start) or even having double-clicked on interserver.exe, the process interserver.exe does not appear in the list of my processes (it happens on my friend's)... interbase : v6.01.0 interserver : 2.01 just tried to re-re-install interserver and got the following message : "the interserver config information was not found in the registry". As requested have already added "interserver 3060/tcp # InterBase InterServer" in my services file. thanks a lot. quinn wildman <qwildman@nospam.borland.com> wrote: >What version of InterBase? > >pantea wrote: >> thank you Craig, >> the problem is that after having started interserver (isconfig.exe \advanced\service control : start) or even having double-clicked on interserver.exe, the process interserver.exe does not appear in the list of my processes (it happens on my friend's)... >> >> "Craig Stuntz [TeamB]" <cstuntz@nospam.please [a.k.a. vertexsoftware.com]> wrote: >> >>>pantea wrote: >>> >>> >>>>Hello, InterClient doesn't start properly! Have you looked at the type 4 driver with InterBase 7? It's a lot easier to use. BTW, what OS? pantea wrote: > interbase : v6.01.0 > interserver : 2.01 > just tried to re-re-install interserver and got the following message : > "the interserver config information was not found in the registry". > As requested have already added > "interserver 3060/tcp # InterBase InterServer" > in my services file. > thanks a lot. > > quinn wildman <qwildman@nospam.borland.com> wrote: > >>What version of InterBase? >>

OS : win 2000 every thing's ok with IB. The main problem is that after having launched FireBirdSQLInterclient, I should have InterServer launched (shoud find interserver.exe in the list of processes). That's not the case. quinn wildman <qwildman@nospam.borland.com> wrote: >Have you looked at the type 4 driver with InterBase 7? It's a lot easier >to use. That's not the case. Um, no, I wouldn't expect that to work. Not if you're using InterBase InterServer. If you are, you need to use InterBase InterClient. If you're not, you shouldn't be asking in this group. -Craig -- Craig Stuntz [TeamB] . Vertex Systems Corp. . Columbus, OH Delphi/InterBase Weblog : http://blogs.teamb.com/craigstuntz
