Hi, All

I just run IB6.0 Super Serve on a Linux machine, when
I type start command in ibmgr interactive mode, the server
told me that "connection rejected for root",
And I found an article in interbase.com that say add the
localhost to trusted host in /etc/hosts.equiv, but I can't found
  the file any where,
  who can help me?

thank

Hi,

You have to create this file for your own machine if it isn't there.
Afterwhich, just add a + or your machine name entry there will do.

But as a sugguestion, try to add a user 'interbase' and start your
server using this login instead of root.

Cheers.

Please note that the using '+' in /etc/hosts.equiv authorizes access by
ANY remote hosts to your database server machine. This is a security
hole so I wouldn't recommend that. You can add 'localhost' and some
TRUSTED hosts into /etc/hosts.equiv instead.
