InterBase 6.0 on FreeBSD....

Hi All,
Can someone point me to where I can get instructions on
installing InterBase 6.0 on FreeBSD. My ISP has been trying
to install it on their server but are having loadings of
hassles. A step by step guide would be nice, or tips and tricks
I can pass onto them.

Apparently my ISP grabbed the FreeBSD from...

Oh, whoops. That's a link to the first FreeBSD build for the testers -
there are newer ones. I'd better change that so it goes to the download
area (there have been lotsa changes on Sourceforge since then, oh dear!)

Post a question to ib-build to ask Geoff Speicher for any gotchas about
installation....

Further to which...I think v.1.0 might be the only one available for d/load
right now. The new kits are on the way in, should be there pretty soon...

I still recommend contacting Geoff Speicher through Firebird Developers or
the IB-Build list/NG as he did the port and has Classic up and going in a
production install.

Hi Helen,

Unfortunately I had to switch to MySQL as we could not wait any longer.
But due to the fact that we are using an OO wrapper to connect to the
DB via PHP4, when we switch servers we intend to move all the
information to InterBase and the PHP files will not need to be changed.

Thanks for your response anyway. And keep up the excellent work!
