I downloaded Interclient 2.00.01 from the web for LINUX. Installed the distribution under /usr/interbase, made the inetd changes etc and restarted inetd (service already had the entry for 3060 etc). Tried to use the applect to connect to the database but I get a SQL State: ICJH2 interbase.interclient.BadInstallationException: [interclient] Installed versions of InterClient and InterServer use incompatible client/server protocol versions. Ok, so I read that the jar files were complied for jdk1.2 (I use J2RE 1.3.0 IBM build). So I downloaded the source, recreated the jar file (now under jdk1.3), but the above exception still occurs. Can anyone throw any light or is this why InterBase is "free". Cheers -raj
