There are several issues: o Hyper-threading -- fixed in IB 7, work around it in earlier versions by disabling hyper-threading in the BIOS setup. o System restore -- useless, mostly; just turn it off. o Second and subsequent connections slow -- bug in IB 6 and earlier, fixed in 7 o Winsock 1 vs. winsock 2 -- I think the issue with Winsock 1 being slow started in Server 2003, but I can't remember for sure. IB 7 uses Winsock 2, with earlier versions the only workaround is to use an earlier OS. So you can work around some of the issues, but not all of them. -- Craig Stuntz [TeamB] .
