max. size of gdb and interbase.log in linux

Hi,

what is the max. size of a gdb and the interbase.log in linux? I have a 2G
gdb and getting following errors in interbase.log:

I/O error  for file "/home/gdb/test.gdb"
error while trying to write to file
invalid arguments

and the interbase.log grows so fast that when it reach 2g, the IB server
crashed.

willl adding a second gdb solve the problem?
