Hi,

We recently purchased Interbase 6.0 licenses from Borland. We have setup our
main(source) database and we are reday to start replication to our target
db.

For test purposes, the target db starts up as a copy of the (initialized)
source db.

The replication configuration seems fine and system objects where generated.

Replication does not work because the replication server does not start.

The IBReplServcInstall.exe says that it installed it fine but when we try to
start the replications server IBRepl.exe, from IBReplServcInstall, it tries
to start the server but ends up back in stopped mode. If we try to start the
server from the Win2kPro services panel from the administrative tools, we
can see that it is trying to start it but then it gives an error message and
the process is not started.

The error message is :

Could not start the Interbase Replication service on Local Computer.

The service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error
or an internal service error.

If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.



We tried this on two different systems and got the same results.

Note: We installed Interbase and the IBReplocator in a custom directory (ex:
c:\db\Interbase) instead of the default directory in "Program Files".

Do you have any hint as to what could be the problem here or what we could
do to resolve it ?
