YY-MM-DD (much better, but i forgot to say is YYYY-MM-DD) is everywhere excepted and has nothing to do with your locale settings. DD-MM-YY or MM-DD-YY that's format that's depending on your locale, but most only at the client site. This (YYYY-MM-DD) is also the format you can find in the EmbedSQL guide from Interbase.
