If you make a list of useful features that R&D could spend their time adding to InterBase support for mixed mode joins would be so far down on the list you could not see it with the Hubble space telescope. The SQL standard was changed to incorporate the new join syntax to allow optimizers to provide better performance. Using the implied join syntax is poor practice because it is likely to give you worse performance than using the SQL-92 syntax. -- Bill Todd (TeamB)
