I have noticed that the textarea fields of a form I designed do not seem to respond to SQL queries. However, the single line text fields appear to function OK. Why is this so? I have some considerable chunks of text in a number of text area fields, and I want to do freetext search on information in these. How do I achieve that? There is an example in the FAQ on Borlands web pages, but that did not make me any wiser. In all examples I have seen on queries, there seems to be a particular string being searched for. I may have missed a point here, but I cannot possibly see the real use of searching for fixed text strings. I am very new to database development, so apologies for any daft questions. One final question: How do I change the date fields to accept data in dd/mm/yy format, and not the mm/dd/yy format? Please notify me by e-mail as well.
