Hi,
My application is on WindowsNT 4.0 Workstation. My database at
the moment is on Access.
I have transferred the database onto Oracel8 (Enterprise edition
Release 8.0.3.00) on a Sun Solaris
server.
I have configured my SQL*NET (ver greater than 2) to have an alias
(GEN).
I tried to connect to the Oracle database from my local SQL*PLUS it was
successful. I tried a few
queries from the local SQL*PLUS interface adn it was also successful.
I want to use SQL Links to connect to the Oracle database. So, I went to
the BDE Administrator
(Intrabuilder ver 1.5) and created a new ORACLE alias (TESTO), in the
"SERVER NAME" setting I
selected "GEN" which was listed. I saved the new alias settings.
When I tried to view the Oracle database from within the BDE
Administrator it prompted for a
password and login name, when I provided the correct login name and
password it failed to connect and
the following error was displayed:
Vendor initialization failed
Cannot load IDAPI service library
File: ORANT71.DLL
Alias: testo
On clicking the details button the following was displayed:
BDE Error: 15879 [$3E][$7]
Vendor intialization failed.
On clicking the next button the following was displayed:
BDE Error: 8458 [$21][$A]
File ORANT71.DLL
On clicking the next button again the following was displayed:
BDE ERROR: 15879 [$3E][$7]
Alias: testo
Can anybody please help me with this problem......I need to connect to
Oracle8....
Thanks in advance,
-Srinivas.
