The java.mailx package depends upon the javax.activation package.  The
install notes, readme, etc for the javamail package should have said this.
Add the "JavaBeans Activation Framework" library to your 

  Project | Project Properties | Paths | Required Libraries.

If you don't already have that library, download the package from Sun
and use

  Tools | Configure Libraries | New

to create it, first.
