The problem is not whether the OS is right or wrong, but how the user wish to work. In WinNT for exapmle in the Time Zone configuration you have a checkbox for "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" and I do not what to force the user for a specific configuration (i.e. make sure that it is checked). > > If I was a user somewhere like Indiana in the US where they don't observe > daylight savings time, I'd be kind of irritated if your program started > telling me it was an hour earlier or later than all my clocks tell me. > As I said if you do not have the "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" checked (On WinNT) then my application will give a wrong time (Not only my every java application using JDK1.3.1). > -- > Gillmer J.
