Any place you like. They should not be placed in jbuilder/lib,
jbuilder/lib/ext, jdk/lib, or jdk/lib/ext unless their installation instructions
specifically say so.

I like to make a JBProject for libraries, since so many of the libraries I
use come with source code.

cd jbproject
mkdir MyLib1
mkdir MyLib1/src <- sources go here
mkdir MyLib1/doc <- docs go here
mkdir MyLib1/classes <- probably empty
mkdir MyLib1/lib <- mylib.jar goes here

Then use JB to create a library definition.
Tools | Configure Libraries | New | "MyLib1"
Set the class path to point at MyLib1/lib/mylib.jar
Set the doc path to point to MyLib1/doc or MyLib1/doc/api
Set the source path to MyLib1/src, if sources came with the library.

To use the library, Project Properties | Paths | Required Libraries | add
"MyLib"

JBuilder/lib is where most of JBuilder's own jars live. Don't alter anything
in here or you're likely to break JBuilder itself.

jdk1.3 is the bundled JVM provided with JBuilder. It's pretty much a standard
Sun JVM installation. jdk1.3/lib is the root of the JVM's own runtime library.
Don't muck with it unless you are instructed to do so. (Some java extension
packages like Java3D have files which go under lib somewhere.)

Were you ever able to access the help? Usually this error is caused by
forgetting to install the documentation. JB5Personal's documentation is
a separate download, as are the samples/tutorials.
