Hi,

I am developing an application that is supposed to send and receive
data from an equipment, through the serial port, and I am using an
example from Sun, which implements an event listener.
What I need to know is if the OUTPUT_BUFFER_EMPTY event occurs when
the TX-EMPTY signal of the UART is raised, i.e., when the physical
transmission is finished, or if it is like the TX_EMPTY of the Win32
API, that occurs when the Windows finished writing to the buffer of
the serial port, waiting just to a software buffer, and not the true
end of transmission.
If it is so, does anyone know any way of knowing the real end of
transmission in Java?

My problem is that I�m using an 232/485 converter, which needs to be
commuted between reception and transmission. So, when I transmit
something and expect an immediate response, I need to commute for
reception the converter as soon as the transmission ends, and not
before or after that, or I will cut the transmission or miss the
answer of the equipment.
