I haven't tried it with Apache Tomcat 4.01, but should not be a problem, 
with Tomcat. A better answer might be to look in the services file in 
etc/services. That file needs to have a setting for interclient. If memory 
serves me correct, should be:


interclient   3060/tpc

Also, make sure that the database server has the following entry in the 
services file

gds_db       3050/tcp


There is also an entry needed in the etc/inetd file. 

interserver stream tcp nowait.100 root /usr/interclient/bin/interserver 
interserver


Without these entries will not run. You need to add the interclient jar 
files to your classpath as well.
