I think that you'll have to make sure he has MRJ 2.x.x on
his OS X system.  (Apple provides the equivalent of JDK 1.1.8, 
not Sun.)

This is something which you might try, but if that doesn't work,
it might be worthwhile to subscribe to the Java-Dev list which
Apple runs.  Some of the list members use JBuilder for MacOS X, 
and might have some suggestions.  (You might search the archive
first before asking.)
