Again, I'll stress that for MacOS 8.x/9.x, you need to go to Apple's
developer site.  There, you'll find tools for bundling your Java
code so that you can run it as a stand-alone on so-called "Classic"
MacOS.  The reason you have to do this for the JDK 1.1.8/MRJ on 
the Mac is that Java on Classic MacOS is a different beast.  Sun
did little to assist Apple, let alone even consider the Mac OS 
when developing Java.  

You can use JBuilder to write the code and test it on Windows
and Linux.  But to configure it to run on Classic MacOS, you
cannot avoid using the MRJ tools.
