Java Media Framework (JMF) - How to play a movie stored in a database?

Hi,

Does anyone have experience using the Java Media Framework (JMF).  I am
trying to find a way to play a movie (.avi) that has been stored in a
database.  I can get the movie out of the database as an InputStream but
there doesn't appear to be a way to put that stream into the media player
directly.  As far as I can see there is only two ways to start a movie.  One
is from a file and the other is from a URL using the mediaLocater method.  I
have got the movie to play by saving the movie to a file on disk and then
calling it from there but this won't work from an applet because of security
problems

If anyone has a suggestion as to how to make this work please let me know.
