Dear all, I am beginning to see the light with Java (after spending way too much time in Bill's hell) but I cannot get rid of some annoying habits. I used to store persistent window information (placement, dimension etc...i.e. the info of the WINDOWPLACEMENT structure) either in an INI file, back in the Win3.1 days, or in the infamous registry; so that the application, upon launching, would assume the same placement as during the previous session. Are there any standards for Java/Swing applications to store and retrieve these settings, or can one just simply stream the corresponding properties (left, top, width, height, iconized etc...) in a binary file? Thanks to all. Recovering from Windows,
