Rubun: It's finding the class because it is able to determine that the class it found is missing the method, so it won't be the import problems. What is most likely happening is that there is another copy of java.util.Hashmap on your classpath. Since your classpath (which is built up from the outpath, the libraries, etc.) comes before the JDK classpath any conflict will block the JDK version from being used. WebLogic is one of the more common sources of this, but IBM and many other 3rd party library vendors have done it as well. You need to look at the non-JB libraries in your project and open up their archive files with WinZip to see if they've stuck anything from the Java libraries into their distribution. -Rich Rubun Tang wrote: > > In fact I want to add that from the Import tab I was able to find > java.util.HashMap, and guess what, the constructor HashMap(int) is there as > well. > > "Rubun Tang" <abc@cde.com> wrote in message news:3b729fc4$2_2@dnews... > > I am using JBuilder4 Enterprise version.
