It's not really a matter of _JBuilder_ connecting to Valentina.
Your code is what connects to the database, no matter which 
database it is.  Your IDE doesn't do the connecting.

What you need to get from Valentina, by talking to them 
directly, is either their VJSDK (their Java SDK for 
Valentina), or if you are going to use JDBC, their JDBC driver,
which, according to a Dec. 6, 2000 article I just found at

(Google search "valentina jdbc driver"), is going to be available 
"soon".  

So, if I were you, I'd go to their site, and send them an
e-mail message asking when the JDBC driver will be ready:
