I'm using JDK1.3.1 on Windows 98. I've created simple ServerSocket which accept() on port 8888. For a VERY MYSTERIOUS reason, I cannot connect to that port number. When I read from it I get null. Note that the port is found and no exceptions are thrown. If I change the listening port to any other than 8888, all works well. I'm using RMI in that application too. Could there be a connection?
