You cannot do that with the Java Runtime exec(), since that is not how 
it works.  If you want to display the output from Runtime exec(), you 
will have to create a window, capture the output, and display it.  And 
if you ignore the output, you run the risk of having your subprocess 
hang.

The alternative is to write your own exec() method.  It would be almost 
trivial, or at least as trivial as writing native code can be in Java.  
But it would still involve native code, and would limit the portability 
of your application.
