Hi there people,
    We are starting on a new and large project and we need to do some
research before the actual coding begins, so I could you please give us a
few pointers on the following?

    1)    Our project will consist of an Application and an Applet. We are
wanting to communicate through the Application to the Applet, so the methods
in the Applet must be public. We however do now want anyone else to be able
to use a certain number of these 'public' methods. One idea was to have the
methods we want to use accept an object and if the passed object implements
a private interface then to return the required data. Is this possible? If
so how would it be constructed? {Hope i explained this ok}

    2) The communication of Application To Applet will pass some rather
sensitive and 'Live' data between themseleves. We want to strongly encrypt
this and then decrypt it on the other side. Are there any web references /
code that we could look at that would help?
