Let me get this straight. Applets cannot write data back to the server? What I've been trying to develop is an applet for a catalog web page that will read from a database, so that it will only allow the user to select an item if it is in stock. Thus it would need to update the inventory table when a purchase was made. Is this not possible from an applet? Is it time to crack open the CGI books?
