I hope some-one can help with a problem that has had us stumped for the moment. We are writing a report generator using Java2D. The report first appears on a JPanel where the paint(Graphics) method has been overridden, and it looks fine. But when the same set of graphics commands are called with a Graphics object from a printJob, the output has large pixels, as if image is rendered first for the screen. We are using a buffered image created from the JPanel's createImage method. Our attempts to get around that haven't worked so far. When we by-passed the buffered image approach the machine ground to a halt with all memory used up. Any hints? I'm sure there must be a way to do proper printing in Java.
