In a program I've been working on, I'm using menus on 4 different Frame instances, not neccessarily all at the same time. On two of them, the runtime recognizes the need for extra space to display the menu above the contents of the Frame itself, and it displays fine. On the other two, however, it doesn't allocate the display space, and my components wind up getting pushed past the bottom of the window, forcing the user to manually resize the window (quite annoying). I'm using JDK1.1.2 (JBuilder 1.0 Pro version) and pack() all the windows AFTER adding the menubar AND the components. The two that work use nested panels, whereas the two that don't work use only a single panel, but this is not the reason (I changed one of the ones that doesn't work to use nested panels and it still didn't work). Has anyone else had this problem and found a way around it? Is this a bug in JDK1.1.2 that is fixed in later versions? (or worse, still not fixed?) Thanks for your help! John
