If you're writing applets (not applications) for the Internet (not an intranet), be prepared for trouble when using swing. Not all browsers support it (in fact, I don't think any do at this point) - you either provide the swing classes in a jar or force the user to use the Java plugin. For the former- transmission is slow over a modem; for the latter- the user must install the plugin (but this is the best route). JBuilder puts swing in its jar files, unless you write each file from scratch without using any of JBuilder's code generation (which relies on swing). -- Pierre A. von Kaenel Math & Computer Science Dept.
