Doesnt java use virtual memory

Hi.

Im developing an application in windows NT and I noticed that my app never
uses
the swap file. I get an OutOfMemoryException even with an emty swap file.

I loaded a bunch of programs and watched the memory consumption and of all
the programs
I started, only the java app crashed when the swapping began.

Is this configurable in any way or is this something that I have to live
with? (Its rather annoying).

Thanx for your help.

Gunnar
