I am developing for the web and therefore do not have the option of using the newer JDK stuff. I am trying to use JBuilder instead of VJ++ because I like the IDE a lot better. A couple of problems... The JBuilder Design view does not seem to recognize older stuff like the GridBagLayout and setting a TextField's size during creation of it (ie text1 = new TextField(20) the field does NOT end up being 20 characters in size in the Design view, though it does work when I run it.) Since I cannot use the addActionListener (too new for the older JVM and JDK) I am using handleEvents in my main applet. Everything works on my development machine using Shift-F9. I do get several exceptions in the DOS box that runs the HotJava applet runner, though. When I go to run this on my test machine that has the older JVM and JDK (IE3.02 on NT 4.0), the events for the buttons I have work, but the TextFields that allow editing to not allow you to edit them. I type and nothing shows up in the TextField. On my development machine stuff shows up when I type. Please Help, Thanks, Tony
