Chris, there is a (reasonably) finished, complete solution to your .rtf requirement available. The Swing 1.0.1 classes from Javasoft include components and classes that implement styled text in a very generic and flexible way. HTML and RTF are directly supported, and there are some (vague) pointers on how to roll your own document type support. Go to www.sun.com and find your way to the Swing Connection (I always get lost looking for it, bookmark it when you find it!) and download their JFC 1.0.1 (which includes all that Swing stuff). If you get the right files, you will get the source for a reasonably working RTF editor. There's no telling if you can integrate Swing into your project within 2 days and get it working satisfactorily, but it's worth a shot. Another solution is a set of text handling classes by a Japanese fellow by a name that starts with K. His package is called KFC (K...'s Foundation Classes) and it's available for free download from gamelan.com . His claims sound good but I've never looked at it, so you're on your own here. Hope this helps, Carl ----------------- Chris Perks wrote: > > I've got 2 days before a demo and I urgently need help on the following: > > 1) We need to display Rich Text Format file (.rtf) on a text > area in a frame.
