java.awt.Graphic dimensions

I need to find the dimensions of the portion of my dialog box on which I
can draw. After searching through the skimpy help files, the only
functions that I was able to find that sounded appropriate were getClip
and getClipBounds, yet these both returned null. Is there any function
which can get the dimensions of a Graphics object, such as a getHeight
and getWidth or getMaxX and getMaxY (just guesses at names, I've never
seen any functions like that)?

Thanks in advance.

John
