G'day All,
I'm a newbie to Java and experienced a "spot of bother" last night with the
following Applet code, compiled OK, ran OK ... but there was no output in
the "Appletviewer".
--
import java.applet.Applet;
import java.awt.Graphics;
public class HelloWorld extends Applet {
public void Paint(Graphics g) {
g.drawString("Hello world!", 50, 25);
}
}
--
I tried looking at the "drawString" with "Browse symbol at cursor .." - it
couldn't be found, I tried looking at "Paint" with the "Browse ..." not
found either.
An eventual char x char comparison with a cut'n'paste copy from the
tutorial showed "Paint" as "paint".
Should the IDE have found "drawString" in its class hierarchy or was that
lost due to the capitalization of paint ?
cheers
Will Beattie
