setting dataSets at run time

I created a DataModule with a Database and several QueryDataSets, and would
like to use the QueryDataSets in other forms. In my form, I have a text
field and a grid control. I tried to connect the fields' dataSet property
to a QueryDataSet, like this:

       void jbInit() throws Exception{
         RentData dm = RentData.getDataModule();
         bldgNum.dataSet = dm.queryBldsm;
         gridControl1.dataSet = dm.queryRetax;
       }

     but when I compile, I get an error: "variable dataSet has private
access in class borland.jbcl.control.TextFieldControl"

What am I doing wrong?
