I need to write a client class that will talk to a three tier server running as a service on NT (C++) . The server uses NT's CryptAPI to encrypt passwords sent by clients and optionally crypt all the data. What I was wondering is: 1) Will the Java encryption classes work with the public key/session keys of NT's CryptAPI. I am using PROV_RSA_FULL which uses RSA for key exchange and RC2, RC4 for session keys. 2) CryptAPI supports the container PROV_SSL (secure socket layer). Could this be used with Java? 3) Does anyone have hands on experience of encryption/decryption in Java and if so where I can find detailed information on how to use it. I am rather new to Java so I dont know its class structure well enough yet. 4) How low-level can you get when working with Java encryption. Exchanging public key's etc. tjorvi
