Serialization in JB8 - Personal

I have a little personal application that is currently in JB7- Personal that
serializes some objects to a file when the application is closed. All of
the classes are serialized simply using the defaultWriteObject() method.
Everything works as intended. I am able to de-serialize the objects next
time around the application is started.

I tried running this application in JB 8 but I get serialization error when
the file is written. I haven't changed anything in the source.

Is there anything different about serialization in JDK 1.4?

TIA
George
