It sounds like the DLL is not in the path. You can set the path in one of two ways (this is from the Sun Java site at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jni/html/start.html): If you are running on a Windows 95 or Windows NT machine, make sure that HelloWorld.dll is in the current directory, or in a directory that is listed in the PATH environment variable. In Java 2 SDK 1.2 release (or greater), you can also specify the native library path on the java command line as a system property as follows: java -Djava.library.path=. HelloWorld The "-D" command-line option sets a Java platform system property. Setting the java.library.path property to "." instructs the Java virtual machine to search for native libraries in the current directory. -- Check out our latest white papers at http://www.datadevelopment.com/papers/index.html BladeNET Scores With Borland Enterprise Tools Team Development with JBuilder and Borland Enterprise Server Dolphin Data Development Ltd. http://www.datadevelopment.com/ "Boguslaw Fries" <bfries1955@msn.com> wrote in message news:4059927a$1@newsgroups.borland.com... > Hello, > I m newbie in JNI. > I have Borland Builder 6.0 C++ and JBuilder X personal. > I have Microsoft Windows XP Home edition > I wrote my firsty application using the technical advice from the artikel > http://community.borland.com/article/0,1410,20679,00.html > > After many probing , obtain I always JBuilder runtime error: > java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: WindowAlwaysOnTop > > I checked: > -DLL is in the proper directory, > -JDK is version 1.4 > - DLL I made using standard method Borland Builder C++ > - javah was properly used and in the impelentation file is the correct > function signature > > Is anybody experienced with? I try to use F9 to program run instead of the command line. Btw , which is the default value of java.library.path?. How to read this value? I m sorry for my dummy questions :) Boguslaw Fries.

Not a dumb question at all; don't worry about it. You can set the library path in the Runtime Configuration by entering it into the "VM Parameters" field with "-Djava.library.path=/myDLLDir". -- Check out our latest white papers at http://www.datadevelopment.com/papers/index.html BladeNET Scores With Borland Enterprise Tools Team Development with JBuilder and Borland Enterprise Server Dolphin Data Development Ltd. http://www.datadevelopment.com/ "Boguslaw Fries" <bfries1955@msn.com> wrote in message news:4059adb7@newsgroups.borland.com... > > > If you are running on a Windows 95 or Windows NT machine, make sure that > > HelloWorld.dll is in the current directory, or in a directory that is > listed > > in the PATH environment variable. > > > > In Java 2 SDK 1.2 release (or greater), you can also specify the native > > library path on the java command line as a system property as follows: > > > > java -Djava.library.path=. But unfortunatelythe problem is not here. I carrefully checket your suggestion. When I delete my HelloWord.dll then fatal error ocurs. So DLL is in good place I think, is something not good with the creation of DLL: But for example tdump.exe utility properly display name of the entry point So what else? Boguslaw Fries

I'm afraid at this point you've exhausted my expertise in this. The only other thing that comes to mind is that the name is somehow not spelled correctly or that Java expects the name in all uppercase. Beyond those, I have no other suggestions. -- Check out our latest white papers at http://www.datadevelopment.com/papers/index.html BladeNET Scores With Borland Enterprise Tools Team Development with JBuilder and Borland Enterprise Server Dolphin Data Development Ltd. http://www.datadevelopment.com/ "Boguslaw Fries" <bfries1955@msn.com> wrote in message news:4059fb3d@newsgroups.borland.com... > > "Kevin Dean" <NkOdSePaAnM@datadevelopment.com> schrieb im Newsbeitrag > news:4059c8a6$1@newsgroups.borland.com... > > Not a dumb question at all; don't worry about it. > > > > You can set the library path in the Runtime Configuration by entering it > > into the "VM Parameters" field with "-Djava.library.path=/myDLLDir". > > > > -- > Thank you a lot.
