You can use Swing components in an applet just as you would use one in 
an application, but you should extend JApplet rather than Applet for 
your applet.  The other thing to be aware of is that the default Java 
implementation in some browsers is version 1.1, so they do not support 
Swing.  For those browsers, you would need to use the Java plugin.
