Does anyone here make use of RDTSC for timing? If so, did you use JNI to gain access to it, or is there a downloadable tool for the purpose? -- Bill Politics -- the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich by promising to protect each from the other. -- Oscar Ameringer Posted with XanaNews Version 1.14.1.2

I haven't, and I don't know of any tools, but here's an article which features some JNI that makes a call to RDTSC: http://www.codeproject.com/cpp/IntegratingCPPJava.asp It's worth bearing in mind that JNI itself will add some overhead, which may be worth taking into account, and also that you'd probably have to make sure you're running on an appropriate processor :) Also, if it's of any use, there are some Delphi conversions of the JNI headers at JEDI, if that's preferable to C++. -- Owen
