Hello, I have a jar file, inside of this jar file I have a directory called MyDirectory. Question: How to assign the system environment variable to that directory? Example: MyFile.Jar -> MyDirectory On the Environment Variable, what should I assign to the variable: set myDirectory = ? Thank you very much in advance! Maritza.

You could use a string specifying the URL of that directory. The URL
string would look something like this:
jar:file:D:/aaa/bbb/ccc/JarFile.jar!/xxx/yyy/zzz

Hello again, Thank you for the information provided! Based on that I tried to do the following: In batch file or from the command prompt I try many variations but none of those worked: set myYar=c:\myDir\myJar.jar myTargetDir set myYar=c:\myDir\myJar.jar!\myTargetDir set myYar=c:\myDir\myJar.jar\myTargetDir Basically this is my situation: I have dll file. One of the methods takes the parameter and accordingly is looking for environment variable in Windows system. If it has been found, then the application refers according the path to this directory for grabing some data. In my case this directory is located in jar file. The situation makes me to keep it there. How to assign the environment variable using DOS command to be equal to this directory in side jar file? Any ideas? Thanks, Maritza. None of these are close to the one that I suggested, which was:
jar:file:D:/aaa/bbb/ccc/JarFile.jar!/xxx/yyy/zzz

You need to know what the method expects as an argument. Your
environment variable cannot be "equal" to a directory; it can
only hold a string. It is up to that method to interpret this
string.

Does the method in the DLL know how to handle JAR files? If not,
you are not going to get very far.
