Sorry to jump in, but the above error caught my eye.

Either there is a bug in Netscape's Java implementation, or the VM
has determined that the applet isn't coming off of www.netserv.net.au.

Is your code still using getDocumentBase()?  If not, fire it to
System.out.println() to verify it's what you think it is.

If you fully specified the URL, are you loading the applet off of your
web server via a http:// URL?
