Hello,

I have a fairly simple, straightforward program that I need to put to this
newsgroup and see if any of you can come up with a solution as to why it
doesn't work.

Consider the following example:

import java.io.*;

class jbtest

{
    public static void main (String[] args) throws IOException
    {
        DataInputStream input = new DataInputStream (System.in);
        String S;

        System.out.println("\nPlease enter a string:\n");
        S=input.readLine();
        System.out.println("\nThe string is: "+S);
        System.out.println();
    }
}

I've been having problems compiling this program under J Builder
Professional.

Any suggestions?
