Mark: I apologize, "instanceof" does seem to work. I couldn't debug the
bean very well, so I put the same code in the application and discovered
that it was finding the handle of the dialog, not the parent frame.

Now I just have to figure out why the frame, not the dialog, is getting
its "close" function callled. Must be something to do with the fact that
the bean is used in both the frame and the dialog, and the bean's
interface is implemented by both frame and dialog. Gotta start looking.
