Todd: This may seem to contradict what others have said, but I promise this is more of a refinement. The answer to your question, as stated, is "probably no, the applet won't run". All of this assumes your friend has a Java 1.1 enabled browser. If you get your friend *all* the classes and tell him the right places to stick those classes on his machine (including getting the case correct for all directories, etc), then yes, he'll be able to run your applet. If your applet uses any of the jbcl components, you could also forward the archives in the \redist directory and he'd be able to run your applet as long as he wasn't using Netscape. Your best bet it to package all your classes and any of the needed classes from the other archives into a single JAR file. Use the Deployment Wizard to accomplish this. Then, you send your friend the HTML file and the archive and you have a much better chance of the Applet working. -Rich Todd Cary wrote: > If I send the *.html and the *.class files to a friend, shouldn't the > friend be able to view the applet with a browser? > > Todd
