Troubles with the WMA and receive SMS

Good morning: I'd like to develop a MIDLet which should process in
some way SMS receive by the cell phone. The problem is that, the WMA
system requires the MIDLet to stay listening on a particular port, so
there's the problem of SMS receive when the MIDLet is not in
execution...So, is there a way to access received SMS, stored in the
SIM card, using RMS?
Speaking of J2ME IDEs, I tried Netbeans and JBuilder, and I found the
first to be easier to use, and with more functions (the "Flow
designer" is quite cool). Do you know of any other IDE, better than
Netbeans in mobile development?
Thanks a lot

No. Due to security restrictions, the MIDlet can *only* process SMS messages
sent to the port to which it's registered as a listener. It cannot access
the SMS messages for any other application or that are sent to the default
port.
