I created an applet that is based off of JApplet. There are no
components on the applet and the applet itself doesn't do anything. I
just created a new applet within JBuilder and did not add any code,
except for a finalize routine to see if it gets called. When I run the
applet in a browser, the finalizer never gets executed even if I exit
the browser. I also force the garbage collector to run and the
JApplet's finalizer never gets called. If I base the exact same applet
from the Applet class instead of JApplet, the finalize routine get
called correctly. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there
something else needed to be done for JApplets to cause them to get
cleaned up?
Thanks,
Pam
