getInputContext returns null

Greetings everybody,
I am trying to use InputMethod in my Java application in order to input
chinese language.  Since I am using Swing components (namely
jTextField) I use the
getINputContext().SelectInputMethod(Locale.SimplifiedChinese)  in order
to activate the Input Method process...

However, the GetInputContext() method returned null...
Anyone know why that is ? As far as I know the InputContext should be
there, I know of no method anyway to put an InputContext into a
Component or an application...

Any help would be appreciated, thanx in advance !
