Default Keymap in JTextComponent

JTextComponents react to certain keystrokes in a default way, e.g. 
"CTRL-C", "CTRL-V", "CTRL-X".

I want to obtain the keymap containing the corresponding actions, so I use
    Keymap keymap = JTextComponent.getKeymap( 
JTextComponent.DEFAULT_KEYMAP );

but keymap is returned empty!

Does anybody know where those keystrokes are dealt with and if it is 
possible to obtain associated actions, so I won't have to define them 
again? Thanks!
